Disc herniation treatment. Dr. Jake visits Iowa Ortho to learn surgical options

Disc herniation

On Thursday, December 12th, Dr. Jake had the opportunity to visit and shadow the spinal surgeons at Iowa Ortho on the Mercy Hospital Campus to learn more about disc herniation treatment options. Prognosis and outcomes for patients improve greatly when there is co-management and an understanding among all local doctors of all options available. Learning from experts in the field such as Dr. Harbach and Kraig Holtorf greatly increased my understanding of surgical and medical options for severe spinal conditions. These guys are some of the best at what they do and I highly recommend them. Recently, there has been a shift in surgical methodology to a more conservative outlook. It was made very apparent to me that surgery was always a final option after all conservative methods have been attempted.

This visit is just another way we go the extra mile for our practice members here at Central Health. To truly be great at your craft, you must fully understand the entire field. Too often people in the medical field see conditions only through the scope of their specialty. In order to provide the best care possible, a full understanding of all treatment options is a must. I am a firm believer in co-management with the medical field when discussing disc herniation treatment options. These doctors reinforced my believe and trust in our medical community. Thank you to Dr. Harbach, Holtorf and their staff for hosting!

For more information, click the link below. Doctor Jake has spent years studying these injuries and is a leader in conservative management for disc injuries. These problems have the potential to last months to years if not taken care of correctly. If you suspect you might have a disc injury, don’t hesitate to see your doctor.  It is much easier to correct disc injuries if they are caught early.

  1. Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what
theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would
appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!
