Activator technique is an instrument assisted technique. The doctor locates spinal misalignment and corrects them through an impulse sent though a spring loaded impulse machine. This impulse is extremely fast but gentle. Because of the speed of the devise the force necessary to achieve the desired correction is minimal. There is no audible crack in joints from this technique.
Activator technique is most often used for pediatric and geriatric patients. These patients require very little force to accomplish the desired movement. Simple physics come into play. The faster the impulse, the less mass or pressure is required to deliver the appropriate force.
